About Mama Wellness Foundation:

The Mama Wellness Foundation is a recently established nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the mental health and well-being of mothers during pregnancy and the postpartum period. We provide a range of services, including therapy programs, postpartum care, financial assistance, and social support, with the aim of creating a strong and empowered community for mothers.

 

Position Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Grant Researcher Intern. The successful candidate will play a key role in identifying and securing funding opportunities that align with our mission and objectives. This internship provides an excellent opportunity for someone interested in gaining hands-on experience in the nonprofit sector, specifically in grant research and proposal development.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Grant Research: Identify potential funding opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government sources that align with the Mama Wellness Foundation's mission and programs.

  • Database Management: Maintain an organized and up-to-date database of potential funders, grant deadlines, and application requirements.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Executive Director to understand the organization's funding needs and contribute to the overall grant-seeking strategy.

  • Documentation: Prepare summaries and reports on potential funding opportunities for internal review, providing insights on the viability of pursuing specific grants.

 

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a relevant undergraduate or graduate program (such as nonprofit management, public administration, or a related field) or a recent graduate. 

  • Strong research skills, with the ability to gather, analyze, and synthesize information from various sources.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

  • Passion for the Mama Wellness Foundation's mission and a strong interest in the nonprofit sector.

  • Must practice a professional, constructive, and positive work attitude to ensure high morale and productivity.

 

No prior experience in grant writing or research is necessary, as training will be provided. The ideal candidate will be available to work for at least 10 hours per week, meet once weekly, and be able to commit for the full internship (SPRING ONLY).

As an intern, you will work independently and remotely as well as have the opportunity to attend local events with the founder. With the support of the Executive Director, you will gain valuable experience that can be applied to future endeavors in your professional career, making a positive impact on the community.
